WCC Henry S. Landau Skilled Trades Building
Ann Arbor, MI

Project Details

Marsh performed a complete renovation to the former Storage and Receiving building. The scope of work included demolition of a portion of an existing building and removal of all the surrounding walls exposing the existing structural steel. A second level mezzanine on a portion of the building was added. The remodeled space provides three classrooms for the skilled students with an open lab environment on the south side of the building.

The Henry S. Landau Skilled Trades Building is the new main-campus home of the residential construction/construction technology program, one of the oldest at Washtenaw Community College. Until now, the program was held in a rented off-site location in Ypsilanti, Mich. The redesigned 7,362 square foot building, renamed for a former trustee and respected builder, offers students the space to learn to build houses hands-on with a focus on green building practices.
